Abstract

Recently, the Taiyuan Branch of China Merchants Bank, in collaboration with the Shanxi Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, grandly launched a joint thematic event as part of the Corporate Culture Festival titled “Striving Ahead in the 14th Five-Year Plan: Stepping Forward to Plant New Greenery.”

Under the warm spring sunshine, now is the perfect time to plant trees and green our environment. To deeply implement the concept of green development, cultivate a strong foundation of integrity culture, and enhance the core values of our corporate culture, the Taiyuan Branch of China Merchants Bank recently joined forces with the Shanxi Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce to host a grand co-organized event as part of the Corporate Culture Festival: “Striving Ahead in the 14th Five-Year Plan: A Healthy Walk to Plant New Greenery.” Numerous employee representatives and guests from partner organizations gathered together, embracing the spring scenery through a brisk walk and sowing seeds of hope by planting trees.

The event venue was awash with the vibrant spirit of spring and exuded a lively, enthusiastic atmosphere. A large, eye-catching thematic backdrop prominently showcased the five core themes of the initiative—integrity culture, financial services, corporate culture, green environmental protection, and the centennial legacy of China Merchants Bank—complemented by vivid illustrations on the theme of tree-planting charity and the bank’s exclusive IP mascot. Colorful balloons adorned the space, infusing every corner with a sense of vigorous vitality and upward momentum. Participants, dressed in uniform event attire, radiated energy and enthusiasm, collectively capturing the unforgettable moments of this profoundly meaningful occasion.

This event takes the deep integration of Party-building culture, ecological conservation, and corporate culture as its core platform. During the brisk-walking segment, all participants marched forward in the gentle spring breeze, strengthening their bodies and fostering team cohesion through immersive walking, thereby fully showcasing the vigorous, enterprising, and collaborative spirit of CMB employees. In the tree-planting activity, everyone worked together in an organized manner—shoveling soil, filling planting holes, and carrying water to irrigate—carefully planting saplings with their own hands. Through these concrete actions, they put into practice the development philosophy that “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets,” adding a vibrant new splash of green from China Merchants Bank to the land of Shanxi and jointly nurturing the ecological commitment to build a “century-old CMB forest.”

This joint government–enterprise themed event is not only a signature highlight of the China Merchants Bank Taiyuan Branch’s Corporate Culture Festival, but also a vivid demonstration of the branch’s efforts to deepen bank–enterprise collaboration, fulfill its social responsibilities, and convey the warmth of public welfare. Over the years, the China Merchants Bank Taiyuan Branch has remained true to its original mission in finance, deeply cultivating the Shanxi market. While maintaining prudent operations and continuously enhancing the quality and efficiency of its financial services, the branch has actively engaged in green philanthropy, ecological conservation, and the promotion of spiritual civilization, consistently integrating the principles of integrity in professional conduct and sustainable development into every aspect of its business operations and team building.

Looking ahead, the Taiyuan Branch of China Merchants Bank will take this event as a new starting point, steadfastly embarking on a new journey of development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. The branch will continue to strengthen corporate culture as a guiding force, solidify the foundations of integrity and compliance, fulfill its mission of green finance, and deepen collaborative partnerships with multiple stakeholders. With greater vigor, more pragmatic accountability, and higher-quality services, the branch will contribute to the high-quality development of the local economy, writing a chapter for financial institutions in the times through unwavering responsibility and commitment. In doing so, it will ensure that the tree of green development remains evergreen and that the warming power of finance endures.
