The Lin County Procuratorate is wholeheartedly safeguarding the geographical indication brand of jujubes.

By leveraging its supervisory strengths, the procuratorate provides guidance and assistance to enterprises, and shares valuable insights tailored to the needs of industrial development. Recently, reporters learned from the Linxian People's Procuratorate that the “Qikou Red Dates” product series—carefully developed by the procuratorate’s designated partner enterprise, Linxian Qikou Hong Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd.—has secured international orders worth 640,000 yuan at the Food & Beverage Exhibition in Barcelona, Spain.

As soon as the exhibition ended, date farmer and entrepreneur Chen Yongzhen headed straight to the People’s Procuratorate of Lin County to express his heartfelt gratitude. According to Chen Yongzhen, the prosecutors assigned to provide paired support have long provided strong backing and assistance to his red date enterprise’s “employment-based poverty alleviation workshop.” Moving forward, he hopes that the procuratorial authorities will continue to offer meticulous guidance on legal matters such as contract law, intellectual property rights, and foreign trade law, helping Lin County’s red date products better expand overseas and gain a foothold in the global market.

Lin County is renowned as the "Hometown of Red Dates." In December 2013, Lin County's red dates successfully obtained the title of "National Geographical Indication Protected Product." According to statistics, Lin County has 820,000 mu of land dedicated to red date cultivation, with an annual output reaching 360 million jin. The county boasts more than 70 red date processing enterprises, over 110 specialized red date cooperatives, and more than 3,000 red date brokers. For many years, due to a lack of brand awareness, enterprises engaged in blind and disorderly competition, and product quality varied widely, making it difficult for a series of red date brands—such as "Qikou Red Dates" and "Kaiyang Red Dates"—to fully realize their branding potential.

In recent years, in response to the lack of brand awareness and insufficient legal knowledge within the jujube industry in Lin County, the court has actively collaborated with the Jujube Industry Service Center to launch a targeted support program aimed at assisting jujube enterprises. By conducting in-depth visits to these enterprises to gain a better understanding of their operational models and future development plans, the court has addressed various legal issues encountered in production, management, rights protection, and risk prevention. Through multiple rounds of consultations and clarifications, the court has further enhanced enterprises’ awareness of intellectual property and geographical indication protection, guiding them to adopt a rule-of-law mindset to promote healthy development.

Meanwhile, the People's Procuratorate of Lin County has adopted a targeted approach to expand its impact, proactively fulfilling its duties and continuously providing “zero-distance” legal services to red date enterprises in the county. It has also consistently strengthened legal measures for intellectual property protection, stepped up efforts to promote awareness and protection of enterprises’ intellectual property rights as well as distinctive geographical indication agricultural products, and made every effort to ensure that intellectual property awareness increasingly takes root in people’s minds and that the rule-of-law-based business environment continues to improve.

It is reported that at the 8th China International Food and Ingredients Expo and the 2nd China International Pre-made Dishes Industry Expo, the “Qikou Red Dates” product series achieved another outstanding performance, with contract orders totaling 11.16 million yuan already signed.
